  • Anatomy in Motion trained with Gary Ward of BBC1’s Doctor in the House

  • BUPA registered

  • Trained swimming coach

Annie graduated with a Masters degree from the British School of Osteopathy, and has since become a Fellow of Applied Functional Science after completing the prestigious Gift mentor membership programme from the Gray Institute, USA in 2015.

She has always had an interest is biomechanical function which began with taking Levels 1 and 2 with Anatomy in Motion with Gary Ward. AiM’s philosophy is similar to osteopathy in that both provide an environment essential for healing to take place. Using gait assessment as a tool to highlight reduced functional areas of the body, a rehabilitation programme can then be given to the individual.

Annie is also trained in western (medical) acupuncture, which she combines with osteopathic treatment and soft tissue work.

She brings to the clinic a wealth of understanding of the sporting body and how we can overcome injury through the correct treatment and management. Just because your symptoms are there, it does not mean that is where the problem lies. She enjoys treating the acute injuries but also the chronic ones and loves the challenge of chronic shoulder pain.

Annie has always been involved in sport at some level and has done a few half marathons. Back in her earlier days, she was a competitive swimmer where she competed at county level. This led onto a natural path of doing her first triathlon in 2017 and she takes the sport very seriously, hoping to qualify in her age group to represent GB in the Olympic distance .

With the combined interest in the three disciplines of swimming, cycling and running, Annie has maintained focus on rehabilitation of injuries that may occur in these sports and continues to further her knowledge with seminars and workshops. She is also a qualified swimming/stroke coach and is the mother of two sporty girls.

If you’re a current patient of Annie’s you can book your next appointment with her online. If you’re a new patient or you haven’t been into the clinic in the last two years you’ll need to contact us to book your appointment.

Annie has treated me for many years and I have always found her to be a very knowledgeable and skilled practitioner. I have also found her to be very friendly whilst maintaining an extremely professional manner. She will always discuss any procedure and ask for my permission before going ahead. Also Annie is very sensitive to my life style choices. Other practitioners may suggest I stop running; Annie helps me to keep running. In fact Annie was largely responsible for my 57 year old body being fit for the London Marathon last year.
