Dr Cath Spencer-Smith
Cath qualified in 1995 from St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, and then trained in sports medicine at Bath University. She has worked with an extensive range of different sports, treating all levels of participants, ranging from Olympian and Paralympians, to the occasional exerciser. She was a Sports Physician at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, has worked with GB rowing, marathon and endurance sports, premier league football and rugby, as well as extreme and adventure sports. Cath is a university lecturer, has been an advisor and presenter in several television productions, and is a keen marathon runner and triathlete.

Dr Lorenzo Masci
Consultant Sports Physician
As a consultant in Sports and Exercise Medicine, Lorenzo has undertaken extensive and vigorous specialist training. Clinical interests include overuse tendon disease and iliotibial band friction syndrome; hip and groin disease; diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections including cortisone, Platelet-rich plasma and hyaluronic acid and non-surgical treatment of osteoarthritis.

Dr Jo Larkin
Dr Larkin has extensive experience in treating elite athletes and working in high performance environments, as well as managing musculoskeletal conditions of city workers, weekend warriors and physically active people in pain. She is currently the Chief Medical Officer for the LTA and works with British Elite Tennis players and future aspiring junior players. Dr Larkin works with athletes of all abilities and has been fortunate enough to be involved in two Olympics and one Paralympics.

Adrian Fairbank - Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
Adrian is an Orthopaedic Surgeon and knee specialist at Wimbledon Clinics with over 20 years of experience as a consultant. His expertise encompasses non operative, injection and surgical techniques. He is greatly experienced in keyhole arthroscope surgery and open procedures to help patients with knee pain. He has performed over 10,000 procedures in meniscus surgery, ligament reconstruction and joint replacement.

Panos Gikas - Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
Panos specialises in hip and knee replacement, rehabilitation and cartilage transplantation. Panos also uses the muscle-sparing ‘anterior’ approach with his total hip replacements and does ‘robotic’ knee replacements. His clinical and research endeavours have centred around hip and knee reconstruction and treatment of bone and soft tissue cancer.

Sam specialises in complex foot and ankle problems. Running one of the largest NHS foot and ankle units in England, Sam takes complex referrals from all over London and the South-East, managing non-surgical and surgical techniques for both common and rare injuries.

Matt Solan - Foot and Ankle Surgeon
A first hand recommendation from James, Matt is an excellent Foot and Ankle specialist. Mr Solan deals with all foot and ankle disorders and sports injuries. Treating children as well as adults, he has special expertise in the painful big toe, part of the international team pioneering Cartiva surgery. He runs Instructional Courses on key-hole ankle surgery for sports injuries. He also has a particular interest in the treatment of stubborn heel pain.

Nigel Mendoza  - Consultant Neurosurgeon
Nigel’s specialist areas of clinical interest are related to the surgical treatment of skull base tumours such as acoustic neuroma and pituitary tumours, as well as the surgical treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. He also has a specialist interest in the management of disorders of the spine relating to both the non-surgical and surgical management due to the wide range of pathologies, which may affect the spine from occipito-cervical to lumbar sacral junction.

Sam Gidwani - Consultant Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon
Sam’s practice is focused on injuries and disorders of the hand, wrist and forearm. He works closely with hand physiotherapists and radiologists, resorting to surgical treatments only when necessary.

Dr Paul Jarman

Paul treats patients across a broad spectrum within clinical neurology. He specialises in managing Parkinson’s disease and disorders that cause problems with movement and mobility. Paul also sees stroke patients who range from those who are mildly affected to those who need many months of neurorehabilitation.

Dr Patrick Keily
Consultant Rheumatologist
Patrick is a consultant and Honorary Reader in Rheumatology. He is a general rheumatologist and runs specialist clinics in difficult to manage rheumatoid arthritis, idiopathic inflammatory myositis (inflammatory muscle disease), vasculitis and interstitial lung disease associated with rheumatic diseases. He also runs the only UK national clinic for people with haemochromatosis arthropathy. He has been a consultant at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 1999.

Amanda Lau
